Reviving Tradition: Sooke Secret Garden Tour Returns After Four-Year Hiatus

Monday, May 6, 2024 – The Sooke Secret Garden Tour, a cherished event in the community, is making a triumphant return after a four-year pause. Garden enthusiasts and nature lovers alike are eagerly anticipating the revival of this beloved self-guided tour, now presented in an exciting new two-day format on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 from 10 AM to 4PM. Additionally, a mesmerizing garden concert awaits attendees on Sunday, June 2 at 4:30pm!
This year’s tour promises an enchanting journey through eight private gardens, each offering a unique blend of flora, artistry, and ambiance. From the historical charm of the Sooke Region Museum to the artisanal splendour of the Artisans Garden and the rustic allure of Woodside Farms, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquillity of these gems. Several garden owners will also be offering a selection of plants for sale, allowing attendees to bring a piece of the magic home.
Proceeds from the Garden Tour play a vital role in supporting the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra.The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their generous support.
As a grand finale to the weekend festivities, the Sooke Philharmonic, under the baton of Conductor Yariv Aloni, will delight with a free outdoor concert on Sunday, June 2nd, at 4:30pm. This captivating performance, open to the public, promises an afternoon of musical excellence at Ed Macgregor Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating arrangements, with food options available for purchase from Bull & Sons. Donations at the event to support the Sooke Philharmonic’s endeavours are warmly welcomed.
