Food Truck Service in Municipal Parks

The District of Sooke is offering, on a trial basis, the opportunity for Food Trucks to sell their product in select Sooke Parks. The Parks that are available are listed below.

  • Whiffin Spit
  • Broomhill Playground
  • Ed McGregor parking lot
  • John Phillips Memorial Park
  • Sooke Potholes parking lot

Venders will be assigned a park by a lottery system, providing an equal opportunity to work in each park. Operators will be able to self-determine the hours and days of the week that they work while complying with the Community Parks Regulation Bylaw.

Food Trucks Owners can complete the PARK FOOD TRUCK SERVICE APPLICATION 2020, and supply the following supporting documentation:

  • 2020 Business License
  • Vancouver Island Health Authority Permit
  • Insurance of $2,000,000.00 with indemnification for the District of Sooke

A refundable damage deposit of $300.00 and an administration fee of $50.00 (non-refundable), is to be remitted at the time of application.

Operators are encouraged to utilize compostable food containers, where possible. Plastic is strongly discouraged.
