Traffic Advisory: Wounded Warrior One Day Run on Sunday, February 6th

Monday, January 31, 2022 – This Sunday, February 6th, the Wounded Warrior Run One Day (Sooke to Sidney) event will start at the Sooke Legion at 10:00 a.m.

Residents can expect delays on Highway 14 from Otter Point Road to the four-lanes from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as runners, along with first responder vehicles, make their way from Sooke to Sidney.

The one-day run on Sunday, February 6th is one of two events taking place in the region in support of the Wounded Warriors Canada. A second event, a relay run from Port Hardy to Victoria, will start on Sunday, February 27th, 2022 and end in Victoria on Sunday, March 6th, 2022. This second event will not visit Sooke.

The Wounded Warrior Run raises funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada, a charitable organization that provides life-changing & family-saving programs and services to members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, First Responders and their families who have been impacted by operational stress injuries such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

Those wishing to donate to the cause can do so online.
