Remembrance Day Mayoral Message

Tuesday, November 9, 2021 – As we approach Remembrance Day, we honour those who lost their lives in service and our veterans who so bravely served. This is also a time to pay tribute to the important and ongoing role of those who serve our country through military service today. On behalf of the District of Sooke Council, I extend a heartfelt thank you and appreciation to you – and your families.

On November 11th, we pause and reflect on the sacrifices of those who serve and their families. We honour them and never forget their extraordinary bravery. In this time of remembrance, we say thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Due to the pandemic, the Sooke Legion will once again hold a virtual ceremony this year. Please join me at 11 am to observe a moment of silence as our community honours and shows our respect for our veterans.

Gratefully,

Mayor Maja Tait
