Friday, December 8, 2023 – Residents are asked to plan ahead if travelling on Highway 14 this Sunday, December 10th.
Vegetation Maintenance, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Vegetation maintenance in advance of the winter storm season is conducted for public safety. For the safety of crews, this work must be done during the day and has been scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10th on Highway 14 from Harbourview Road to Goodridge Road. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place, please allow additional time for your travels.
The District has provided resident feedback to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure regarding previous daytime works and the resulting impact. Traffic Control Personnel will endeavour to better manage traffic travelling west and eastbound than previously experienced.
Sooke Santa Parade, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The parade means Sooke Road will be closed from Charters Road to Otter Point Road from approximately 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 10th. A detour will be in effect, see map below.
