Tuesday, October 20, 2020 – Our parks team has been waiting for a rainy day to tackle some maintenance at Broomhill Playground. Not only do they love the rain for how it supports native plant species thrive, but it’s also the perfect opportunity to tackle playground maintenance with minimal impact on residents. While rainy days are great for splashing in puddles and helping our salmon swim back to their spawning grounds (yes, Salmon have arrived at Charters Creek!), rainy days often mean fewer children on the playground.
With the noise of the equipment and the hope of tackling all playground equipment as efficiently (and impacting as few residents) as possible, please be advised the playground at Broomhill Park will be closed on Friday, October 23, 2020, to allow staff to complete necessary maintenance work. With the sun in the forecast for Saturday, the work will be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Friday so it is ready for you to enjoy!
