Friday, January 5, 2024 – Hazelwood Construction Services is beginning a comprehensive road improvement project on Charters Road. The project will focus on enhancing the infrastructure along Charters Road, spanning from Golledge Avenue to Throup Roads, aiming for substantial completion by year-end.
The construction activities are set to take place from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with the potential for occasional work outside of these hours due to project requirements.
Throughout the working hours, a Single Lane Traffic (SLAT) system will be implemented to facilitate the upgrades while ensuring continued access to local traffic. Those travelling in the area are advised to exercise caution, follow traffic control personnel guidance, and adhere to signage in the designated work zones.
It is anticipated that during the summer months, a temporary road closure will be in effect at the “existing dip” for upgrades to the Throup Creek Culvert. Residents will still have access to Charters Road from both the Golledge Avenue and Throup Roads sides; however, the thoroughfare will not be accessible for through traffic during this portion of the project. As specific dates are known, the public will be notified.
Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to residents and mitigate disruptions to daily activities, but some are inevitable. Property owners neighbouring the works will receive additional communication from Hazelwood.
