Tuesday, September 3, 2024 – The District of Sooke is excited to announce its continued sponsorship of the 2024 Sooke Fall Fair, taking place this weekend on Saturday, September 7th, and Sunday, September 8th, at the historic Sooke Community Hall, located at 2037 Shields Road.
This year’s fair will feature exciting new changes, including the addition of poultry judging and timely categories that reflect the importance of self-sufficiency, including preserving food. The Sooke Fall Fair has been a cherished community tradition since 1913, and the District is proud to support this event as a celebration of our local culture, heritage, and the vibrant community spirit of Sooke.
Road Closure Notice: To accommodate the event and ensure the safety of all participants and visitors, Shields Road will be closed to vehicle traffic between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on both days of the event. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternative routes and transportation methods where possible.
Event Highlights:
- Agricultural Showcase: Fresh produce, flowers, baking, and beer and wine judging.
- Arts & Crafts and Photography Exhibits: Showcasing local talent.
- Family Fun: Competitions, scarecrow building, children’s activities, and more.
- Food Vendors: A delicious variety of food trucks will be present, including Randy’s Rod Dogs, Kattia’s Kitchen, Crumb’s Chippery, The Ice Cream truck, Boss Momma Creations, and more.
- Sunday Pancake Breakfast: Hosted by the Sooke Lions on Sunday, September 8th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
The Sooke Fall Fair encourages participation from all ages, with admission by donation. We invite residents and visitors alike to join the celebration, connect with neighbors, and experience the best of Sooke’s community spirit.
