District Celebrates Pride Week Flying Pride Flag at Municipal Hall

Monday, June 28, 2021 – The District of Sooke wishes everyone a Happy Pride Week!

We are proud to be a welcoming community for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions to live and work in a safe and supportive environment.

The pride flag will be flown at the Sooke Municipal Hall for the week as we stand with all members of our community as an inclusive and compassionate city.

Pride Week is a time to celebrate the diversity and strength of the LGBTTIQ2S (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and 2-Spirited) Communities.

Pride Week is a way to honour, respect and celebrate all people regardless of gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation, to recognize our difference and uniqueness and to promote and build community through education and understanding.
