Wounded Warrior Run Travels Highway 14 on Sunday, February 5th from 10am to Noon

Thursday, January 19, 2023 – On Sunday, February 5th, the Wounded Warrior Run One Day Run event will start at the Sooke Legion at 10:00 a.m. Residents can expect delays on Highway 14 from Otter Point Road to the four-lanes from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as runners, along with first responder vehicles, make their way from Sooke to Sidney.

The Sooke to Sidney one-day run is one of two events taking place in the region. A second event, a relay run, from Port Hardy to Victoria will start on February 26th, 2023 and end in Victoria on March 5th, 2023. This second event will not visit Sooke.

The Wounded Warrior Run raises funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada, a charitable organization that provides life-changing & family-saving programs and services to members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, First Responders and their families who have been impacted by operational stress injuries such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

Those wishing to donate to the cause can do so online.
