Tuesday, October 24, 2023 – It might not be Hallowe’en quite yet, but local elves are already preparing for the Sooke Santa Parade! This year’s festivities will take place on Sunday, December 10 at 5:00 p.m. If your business or community group is interested in participating, now is the time to apply!
Hosted by the Sooke Lions Club, in partnership with the District of Sooke, interested parade participants are invited to submit applications to join in the festivities!
Important notes for parade participants:
- The parade is held in the early evening, please LIGHT UP your float and yourselves for maximum visibility.
- Participants are asked, in the event of an emergency, to move to the right-hand side of the road to allow vehicles to pass.
- If giving out treats, they must be individually wrapped and please hand them out: DO NOT throw them or have people enter the parade route to pick them up.
- Move at a slow but steady pace keeping a constant distance between yourselves and those in front of you.
- Direction and who to follow is designated by the marshalls on-site at the Sooke Elementary parking lot.
- Children’s groups (i.e.: sports, schools etc.) must be accompanied by a designated chaperone who will be responsible for the group. For the safety of participants, please drop off all marchers at the rear parking lot of the School leaving the front lot for vehicles.
