Wednesday, September 21, 2022 – Filming of Skyline Productions, Why Can’t I Be Molly Ringwald, is taking place at the Sooke Boat Launch and in the Whiffin Spit Neighbourhood of Sooke this week.
Preparations are underway with filming later today and tomorrow, and crews wrapping up their visit to Sooke by 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd.
Staging will include the Sooke Boat Launch, where public parking will be restricted while the film crew is on location. Public can also expect traffic to be slower moving on Dufour Road.
Signage will be posted in filming areas and residents notified of any potential impacts by the production company.
The film industry in British Columbia employs thousands of people and results in spending and business opportunities in our community. Dollars spent in our community are re-circulated to other businesses, multiplying the financial benefit Sooke receives.
