The District of Sooke is pleased to announce the construction of the Murray Road Staircase is now complete and available for public use.
The new staircase has been constructed along the existing alignment and includes reflective strips to ensure the steps are easily visible in low light conditions. A split rail fence and bear-proof garbage can will be added in coming weeks to the site. Users are reminded to ‘pack-in/pack-out’ their garbage from park spaces to help keep the environment clean.
“The Murray Road staircase provides access to the waterfront, the Rotary Pier and the Boardwalk for all our residents and visitors. These water accesses promote the increased use of our beautiful Sooke Harbour and Basin” said District of Sooke Mayor, Maja Tait.
