Proudly presented by the Sooke Lions and the District of Sooke.
The fun begins at Evergreen Mall at 4pm with complimentary hot chocolate, hot dogs and cookies. The parade runs from approximately 5pm to 5:30pm. Festivities continue at Evergreen Mall until 6:30pm.
Parade Participant Registration
Local businesses and community groups are invited to participate in the parade! Please complete a PARADE PARTICIPANT FORM and return it by email to lionssantaparade@shaw.ca or call (778) 533-9084 or (778) 533-0999
Important notes:
- The parade is held in the early evening to showcase the many improvements in our town core including decorative street lights and Christmas décor. Please LIGHT UP your float and yourselves for maximum visibility.
- Participants are asked, in the event of an emergency, to move to the right-hand side of the road to allow vehicles to pass.
- If giving out treats, they must be individually wrapped and please hand them out: DO NOT throw them.
- Move at a slow but steady pace keeping a constant distance between yourselves and those in front of you.
- Direction and who to follow is designated by the marshalls on site at Sooke Elementary parking lot.
- Children’s groups (i.e.: sports, schools etc.) must be accompanied by designated chaperone who will be responsible for the group.
Parade Route
The parade starts at 5pm from Sooke Elementary, travels along Sooke Road/Highway 14 – with most dispersing on Townsend Road. Please note larger trucks will continue to Otter Point Road.
Parade Spectactors
Please stay off road to allow appropriate space for vehicles, including large trucks travelling in the parade. Delineators will be in place, keep back and enjoy the parade as it passes by.
