District Launches Online Business License Renewal Portal

Thursday, December 8, 2022 – Today, the District of Sooke launched a new online business licensing portal for renewing licenses.

The online payment portal will make the business licensing process easier by using an online self-service option that avoids the need to come to the municipal hall and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We’re continually looking for new ways to support the business community and streamline how businesses connect with us,” said Mayor Maja Tait. “This is one is several improvements that our team is working on to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of District services and better serve the community.”

Using the account number and access code on their renewal notice, businesses can log on to the portal to make their payment. This is the first in a series of digital enhancements for businesses, with further enhancements including business license applications and an online business directory to be available later next year.

Businesses can expect to receive their renewal notices by the end of next week. They are encouraged to renew before February 28, 2023 to avoid a late fee.
