Monday, November 18, 2024 – Get ready to ring in the holiday season with the Sooke Santa Parade, happening on Sunday, December 8, 2024! This year’s theme, “Silver Bells,” celebrates 25 years since the incorporation of the District of Sooke, and promises to be an event to remember.
Festivities will kick off at 4:00 pm at the Vancouver Island Regional Library with pre-parade activities, including:
- Complimentary hot chocolate and hot dogs
- Photos with Santa
- Craft station for kids
- Live musical performances
The parade will begin at 5:00 pm, with floats and participants traveling along a NEW parade route:
- Leaving from Journey Middle School on Throup Road;
- Travelling Throup to Church Road;
- Travelling from Church Road to Wadams Way, disperse just before Townsend on Wadams Way.
Foot participants in the parade will disperse at the Sooke Family Resource Centre, while parade vehicles will continue onto Otter Point Road.
For those attending, be sure to arrive early to enjoy the pre-parade fun and find a great viewing spot along the new route!
Road closures will be in effect from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm (see below for details).
Let’s celebrate Sooke’s “Silver Anniversary” together, as we embrace the holiday spirit with Silver Bells ringing throughout the streets!
