Tuesday, October 3, 2023 – Are you wondering what to do with jack-o-lanterns after Hallowe’en? The Friends of Sooke Parks Society have an answer and welcome your involvement as they get set to host what they hope will be a new community tradition in Sooke!
The team of volunteers is looking to host the first Annual Spooky Pumpkin Walk at Pineridge Park on Wednesday, November 1 from 5-8 p.m. and you can help make the event successful! The group is looking for help:
- Collecting, and arranging pumpkins in the park
- encouraging people to deliver pumpkins to Pineridge Park
- collecting pumpkins by car and delivering them to Pine Ridge Park

- being on-site at Pineridge Park from noon to 5 p.m. to accept dropped-off pumpkins
- Marketing
- passing out flyers
- fixing posters around town
- promoting the event to local businesses and asking them to post flyers in their place of business
- Night of event (5 p.m.-8 p.m.)
- hosts for a welcome table, to manage a hot chocolate station and to guide people through
- keeping pumpkins lit
- composting pumpkins at a nearby house after the event
