Join Us in Honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 – The District of Sooke invites community members to gather in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside at the Sooke Branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library, 6671 Wadams Way. This significant day provides an opportunity to reflect on the history and ongoing impact of residential schools while promoting healing, understanding, and unity within our community.

The event will offer moments of reflection and dialogue, recognizing the Truth and Reconciliation process as essential in acknowledging the injustices Indigenous Peoples have faced. The gathering aims to support our collective journey toward a future grounded in respect and understanding.

Let’s come together on this important day to honour the past and commit to building a stronger future through respect, understanding, and reconciliation.
