Thursday, June 13, 2024 – Join the Juan de Fuca Community Trails Society, Friends of Sooke Parks, and the District of Sooke for a community stroll down the Stickleback Urban Trail and learn about some of the history and future of Sooke’s trail network, including the upcoming Little River Crossing expansion projects. This leisurely walk (stroll and roll) is a casual, all-welcome community gathering aimed at fostering connections, encouraging the use of our trails, and celebrating the start of summer with neighbours old and new!

Bring your family, friends, and even your furry companions (on leash) as we embark on a journey to celebrate community spirit under the summer sun. Strollers and tots on bikes are welcome, too!
During our stroll, we’ll pause to share stories and learn about the efforts behind our trails. Discover the Stickleback Urban Trail, the Sea Walk Trail, and get a sneak peek into the exciting future with the upcoming Sun Run Trail, set to open in 2025. Appreciate the natural beauty around us and perhaps even uncover hidden gems within the neighbourhood. This walk is not just about trails but also about building a stronger community.
Feel free to strike up conversations, exchange contact information, and make plans for future gatherings. There’s no better time to build bonds than on the cusp of summer.
We’ll end the walk at the Sooke Country Market, where participants can connect with local businesses and pick up a treat—or two—along with the finest in fresh, local produce.

As with all District events, carpooling and alternative modes of transportation are encouraged by attendees. Parking is available in the NEW park parking lot, provided as a community amenity contribution through the development of 2197 Otter Point Road.
