BC Hydro will complete overnight work on Sooke Rd until May 22, with possible delays. Expect lane reductions and alternating traffic. Drivers should follow signage and flaggers as crews finish system improvements.
Single lane alternating traffic on Otter Point Road near 2193 on April 22, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for pole replacement work. Expect delays.
Overnight BC Hydro work on Sooke Road (Woodruff to Kangaroo) runs 7 p.m.–5 a.m. until April 24. Expect lane closures, delays, and traffic control as crews upgrade poles and power lines.
Update: Dufour Road has reopened temporarily with plating in place. Design and permitting work continues, with further updates to be shared as repairs progress.
Road maintenance on Otter Point Road between Rhodonite and Wadams Way March 26–27, 9am–3pm. Expect single-lane traffic. Work improves drainage; patching will follow next week.
BC Hydro upgrades on Sooke Road (3750–4118) run March 23–April 2, 2026, weekdays 9 a.m.–2 p.m., with single-lane traffic in each direction via shifted westbound flow maintained.
Update: Work has been rescheduled for the week of March 30. Paving work will occur at several Sooke locations March 31-April 3 from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. daily. Single-lane alternating traffic and minor delays are expected. Work is weather permitting; drivers should plan ahead and follow signage and traffic control.
Update: Tree maintenance on Sooke River Road between Calvert Road and Kirby Road has been rescheduled from Monday, March 9 to Friday, March 6 (7 a.m.–5 p.m.). Single-lane alternating traffic with flaggers will be in effect. Drivers should expect minor delays.
On February 26, 2026, the District of Sooke will conduct CCTV inspections of underground pipes to support maintenance. Temporary traffic impacts are expected on Church Road, Brownsey Boulevard, and Brule Drive. Motorists should follow signage and allow extra travel time.
Blythwood Road will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, February 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accommodate surveying work. Alternative access is available via Parkland. Once surveying is complete, the road will reopen to single-lane alternating traffic.
