Tree Maintenance at Whiffin Spit Park – February 3, 2020

The District of Sooke will be conducting tree maintenance at the entrance to Whiffin Spit Park on Monday, February 3.

An assessment of two mature big leaf maple trees has identified that pruning is required in order to reduce the risk of branch stem or root failure and to improve their overall structure. Maintaining tree health and canopy cover in this important riparian area is of foremost concern.  Future plans for the area include the planting of additional trees to contribute to vital habitat.

Some parking will be impacted and the washroom will be inaccessible for the duration of the work.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
