Tea and Symphony Returns to Sooke on February 16, 2025

Enjoy an Afternoon of Music, Tea, and Delights with Sooke Philharmonic! 

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 – The much-loved Tea and Symphony event is back! Join the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Sooke Community Hall for an unforgettable afternoon of music, refreshments, and community spirit. 

The Sooke District Lioness Club will cater the event, serving a delectable assortment of sweet and savoury finger foods alongside coffee and tea. Attendees will enjoy these treats in a beautifully set venue, complete with tablecloths, fresh flowers, and delicate porcelain teacups—adding a touch of elegance to this musical gathering. 

Under the baton of Music Director Yariv Aloni, the orchestra will present a delightful program featuring masterpieces by Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Highlights include: 

  • Mozart’s Overture to La Clemenza di Tito
  • Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, performed by talented cellist Caitlyn Liu, a recent graduate of the University of Victoria’s music program.
  • Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 (“Haffner”), showcasing the composer’s lively, sparkling brilliance.

This cherished annual event is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of music, community, and the dedicated musicians and volunteers who bring these performances to life. Funds raised from Tea and Symphony help support the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and its mission to enrich the cultural fabric of our region.
