Mayor and Council are excited to announce that two committees are being established to support the growth and development of the community and are inviting applications from Sooke residents to become a committee member.
The Development and Land Use Committee will review topics such as building permits, processes, forms, policies, and land use within the District. They will engage and communicate with the development community, to locate areas of improvements, and work towards providing recommendations to Council.
The Sooke Program of the Arts Committee will identify and make recommendations to Council on art initiatives, review policies and plans, administer the Sooke Arts Reserve Fund, and foster public relations regarding community art.
There are three (3) positions available for the Development and Land Use Committee, and five (5) positions available for the Sooke Program of the Arts Committee. Please review the terms of reference, which are attached to the application form, for further details.
Residents interested in serving either Committee are invited to submit their application to the District of Sooke for consideration by Friday, March 2, 2018 at noon.
