Tuesday, November 5, 2024 – Enjoy a meaningful and engaging outdoor event as the Friends of Sooke Parks Society, Vancouver Island Regional Library, and Esquimalt MFRC in collaboration with the District of Sooke hosts a special Pop-Up StoryWalk® in honor of Remembrance Day.
The event will feature In Flanders Fields: The Story of the Poem by John McCrae, written by Linda Granfield and illustrated by Janet Wilson. Participants will have the opportunity to follow the StoryWalk® around the scenic Woodland Creek Park pond, connecting with the powerful themes of remembrance and reflection through this cherished poem and its historical significance.
Families and community members of all ages are invited to come together for this unique experience. Enjoy fresh air, physical activity, and the beauty of the natural surroundings while engaging with a story that resonates deeply with the meaning of Remembrance Day.
