Monday, January 13, 2025 – The District of Sooke is excited to share an excellent new opportunity for local youth! The Sooke Family Resource Society is opening The Hangout Room to provide a safe, fun, and engaging space for teens aged 13 to 19. Starting February 4th, The Hangout Room will open every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Sooke Family Resource Centre, located at 6672 Wadams Way.
The program offers games, snacks, crafts, and more—creating an inclusive environment for youth to connect with friends, build relationships, and enjoy themselves after school.
“The District of Sooke is pleased to support this meaningful initiative,” said Mayor Maja Tait. “Our youth are an essential part of our community, and providing them with opportunities to connect in a safe and supportive environment helps foster a sense of belonging and builds a stronger Sooke.
Free of charge and open to all youth in the community, The Hangout Room is designed to ensure accessibility for every teen, offering a relaxed setting for creativity and social interaction.
The District of Sooke encourages parents and guardians to share this opportunity with their teens. Together, we can ensure The Hangout Room becomes a cherished part of our vibrant community.
