The District of Sooke is pleased to announce road improvement work will be commencing on June 1, 2018.
Council approved the 2018 Road Improvement Program during budget deliberations this spring and has recently awarded a contract to Island Asphalt Company for the first phase of the program.
Road work will be completed on the following:

- French Road North
- Helgesen Road
- Eakin Drive
- Kaumareen Place
- Rojean Drive
- Christan Drive
- Cedar Ridge Drive
- Belvista Place
“I am pleased to be moving forward with this much needed investment in our roadway infrastructure”, said Mayor Maja Tait. “The Road Improvement Program outlines a phased approach to addressing the rehabilitation work required on many of our neighbourhood roads; prioritizing areas when improvements are most needed, and allocating the associated costs over several years.”
No road closures are anticipated, however local traffic may experience minor delays. Updates regarding areas of work will be posted on the District of Sooke’s website and Twitter account. Work is expected to be completed by mid-June.
