Muir Creek Fire Managed by BC Wildfire

Thursday, July 22, 2021, 11:41am – BC Wildfire is the agency in charge of the Muir Creek wildfire.

While Sooke Fire Rescue, nor any CRD Fire Departments, are currently on site and are not engaged with this fire we understand that, currently, there are no concerns for people or infrastructure.

The fire is approximately one (1) hectare (100 metres x 100 metres). There are ten firefighters and two aircraft fighting the fire.

The fire is on private forestry land owned by Mosaic Forest Management and a preliminary fire cause investigation indicates that it is human-caused. Forestry companies are required to have firefighting capacity on-site.
