Join Mayor and Council for Coffee

Monday, January 9, 2023 – Mayor Tait and District of Sooke Council invite residents to join them for coffee!

Throughout the year, there will be monthly opportunities for Chamber Coffee, taking place in Council Chambers and municipal hall, and Community Coffee, taking place in parks throughout Sooke.

The first event, a Chamber Coffee, will take place on Monday, January 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at municipal hall. Parking is available at 2205 Otter Point Road.

“Council meetings are obviously quite structured, so we hope this will be a refreshing opportunity for residents to connect with their elected officials in a more casual setting,” said Mayor Maja Tait. “Drop-in, say hello, enjoy a cup of coffee, and let’s chat.”

Future events are currently planned for:

  • Chamber Coffee: Monday, February 27th: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Council Chambers
  • Community Coffee: Monday, March 20: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Broomhill Playground

These informal, drop-in, events will allow residents to enjoy some refreshments and discuss ideas and projects, ask questions, or express concerns with their members of Council.

Events, as confirmed, are posted to the District’s event calendar and included in the monthly e-newsletter. If you are not already subscribed to the District’s monthly e-newsletter, do so here.
