Friday, December 13, 2024 – As the holiday season approaches, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone in the District of Sooke. This is a time to celebrate the joy of the season, connect with loved ones, and reflect on the year past.
The holidays are also a reminder of the importance of kindness and compassion. Let’s continue to look out for one another—whether it’s lending a helping hand to a neighbour, checking in with a friend, or simply sharing a smile. Together, we can nurture the strong and supportive community that makes Sooke so special.
In the spirit of the season, Municipal Hall will be closed from Wednesday, December 25, to Wednesday, January 1, allowing staff to enjoy this special time with their families. Regular operations will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2025. Essential services, including emergency response, will remain uninterrupted during this time.
As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited about what we can accomplish together. With collaboration, determination, and shared vision, we’ll continue to build a thriving, connected, and sustainable community. Thank you for your contributions and for being part of what makes Sooke such a remarkable place to live.
On behalf of Mayor and Council, we wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyous holiday season. May the new year bring hope, health, and happiness to you and your loved ones.
Warm regards,
Mayor Maja Tait and Councillors Jeff Bateman, Al Beddows, Megan McMath, Kevin Pearson, and Tony St.Pierre
