EV AND E-BIKE INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING PROJECT

As a member of the the CRD Climate Action Inter-Municipal Working Group & Electric Vehicle Project Team, the District of Sooke is excited to promote the official launch of the EV and E-Bike Infrastructure Planning Project, to prepare a Best Practices Guide to installing/managing Electric Vehicle/Electric Bike charging stations in the region. As part of the project, public and developer focussed surveys are now on-line.

The the aim of this project is to do research on EV/E-Bike charging policies, practices, trends and technology, understand gaps in infrastructure and consult with the public (both the general public and development community) on barriers and opportunities – all to inform a capital region specific local best practices guide on EV and E-Bike charging.  This will include information on topics such as: charging station procurement, signage, charging for use, model policy language, and share advice on planning and legislative tools. Please see the project page for more details.

In addition, on Friday, June 15, there is an EV themed ‘Resilient Region Exchange’ breakfast. Please sign up (https://bit.ly/2Ji3jhj) for this free event, open to all residents, that will include a small display of electric vehicles and an e-bike. Co-hosted with the Victoria EV Club.
