The fire danger rating has been raised to ‘Extreme’ for the District of Sooke.
“Extreme Fire Danger” is defined as – extremely dry forest fuels and the fire risk is very serious. New fires will start easily, spread rapidly, and challenge fire suppression efforts.
All open air burning including campfires, backyard waste and beach fires continue to be prohibited.
