District of Sooke seeks members for Development and Engagement Committee

Mayor Tait invites applicants with experience and knowledge in building and development, to apply as a member of the newly formed Development and Engagement Committee. Any person that feels they would be a valuable asset to this Committee should take the opportunity to apply, a variety of members with diverse backgrounds and skill-set are desired.

The main objective of the Committee will be to review topics such as building permits, processes, forms and policies in regard to building and development. They will engage and communicate with the development community, to locate areas of improvements and provide recommendations to Council.

Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., or at the call of the chair, at the Municipal office (2205 Otter Point Road). There will be three (3) public members, that will be selected by the Mayor, and three (3) members of Council on the Committee. Applicants interested in serving on this Committee are invited to submit their application to the District of Sooke for consideration by Friday, July 7, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.
