Be Proactive: Sand Bags Available @ Public Works Yard

January 29, 2018
[Sooke, BC]
Sand bags and sand available at Public Works Yard – Jan 29 & 30 until 5:30pm

No flood warnings or advisories have been issued for the Sooke River, but BC’s River Forecast Centre has been highlighting other areas of concern on Southern Vancouver island.  With the recent heavy rainfall, and the rains forecasted to continue, the District of Sooke would like to help ensure homeowners are prepared for any potential flooding by providing access to sand and sand bags.

As a precautionary measure, community members are invited to fill their own sand bags using supplies from the District of Sooke Public Works Yard, located at 2060 Kaltasin Road on Jan 29 and 30 between 7:30am and 5:30pm. Sand and bags are available, but please bring your own shovel.
