Tuesday, January 28, 2025 – The District of Sooke invites the community to support the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event, happening on Saturday, February 22, 2025. This family-friendly walk will raise funds to support the Sooke Shelter Society and their mission to ensure access to safe, affordable, and long-term housing for people in the Greater Sooke area.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025
- Start Location: Grassed area of Evergreen Centre Mall (6660 Sooke Road, Sooke, BC V9Z 0A4)
- Schedule:
- 4:00 PM: Meet – Check-in opens
- 4:45 PM: Muster – Gather for opening remarks
- 5:00 PM: Move – The walk begins
- 6:00 PM: Munch – Light meal served
- 7:00 PM: Mosey – Farewell and thank you!
Funds raised will go directly to support community-based services that prevent homelessness and provide outreach to those in need. By walking together, participants demonstrate care for Sooke’s most vulnerable residents while helping build a stronger, more compassionate community.
The Coldest Night of the Year walk welcomes all ages and abilities, with routes designed to be accessible and enjoyable for families, friends, and individuals alike. Registration is open, and participants can sign up individually or as part of a team.
