Monday, May 17, 2021 – The District of Sooke is looking for passionate community members to sit on two (2) Council advisory committees: one (1) member is being sought to serve on each the Climate Action Committee and the Land Use and Development Committee. Interested parties are asked to submit their application by the Friday, May 28, 2021, noon, deadline by email to corp@sooke.ca.
Climate Action Committee:
- The purpose of this committee is to provide advice to Council and recommend policies that will assist the District in achieving its aspiration to be carbon neutral by 2030.
- Meetings occur once a month on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. Membership will be for the remainder of the term, which ends in December 2021.
Land Use & Development Committee:
- The purpose of the Land Use and Development Committee is to provide policy recommendations to Council or best practices related to land use and development.
- Meetings occur once a month on the fourth Friday of the month at 9:00 a.m. Membership will be for the remainder of the term, which ends in December 2021.
