Community News: EMCS Senior Basketball Teams Head to Island Championships

Friday, February 14, 2025 – The Edward Milne Community School (EMCS) senior basketball teams are making waves this season, with both the senior girls and boys teams qualifying for the Island Championships—a historic achievement for the school.

The EMCS Senior Boys led the regular season and clinching first place in the city playoffs title. This marks the first time since 2014 that the boys’ team has achieved this impressive victory.

Meanwhile, the EMCS Senior Girls team has made school history by qualifying for the Island Championships for the first time ever. Their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance have propelled them to this significant milestone.

The success of both teams is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the players, as well as the outstanding leadership of their coaches. The Senior Boys team is guided by coaches Trevor Bligh, Steve Spurr, and Ryan Fuhr, while the Senior Girls team benefits from the expertise of coaches Kayla Natarelli, Amy Hawkings, Anna Jodouin, and Christina Seabrook.
