Call for Board of Variance Committee Volunteer

Applications are invited from Sooke residents or business owners interested in serving on the Sooke Board of Variance. One appointment is required for a three-year term to the three-member Board at this time. The Board of Variance is an independent body which considers requests for minor variances to the Sooke Zoning Bylaw, where compliance would cause undue hardship.

The Board of Variance is required by Section 536 the Local Government Act of B.C. and is formed in accordance with the District of Sooke Bylaw No. 311, Board of Variance Bylaw, 2009.

If you are interested in volunteering please submit a completed ‘Appointment Application’ form  to:
