Legalizing Secondary Suites
The District of Sooke is considering a secondary and small suites legalization program. There are many issues to consider, including:
- Life/safety matters (health conditions and fire rescue);
- Affordable housing alternatives;
- Aging in place opportunities;
- Improved enforcement; and,
- Having owners of suites pay their fair share of infrastructure costs and taxes.
