Councillor Sheila Beech

SHEILA BEECH, a lifetime resident of BC, moved to Sooke in 1990. Sheila has two children and is a devoted grandmother to Lily.

Sheila was a Medical Laboratory Technologist, pioneering research and development of Vitamin B12 assay.

Varied careers included Program Director for a recreation centre, owner of a craft gallery and of a B&B and felt-making studio in the building that was Sooke's first police station. A talented fibre artist whose work has been shown worldwide, Sheila advocates for Sooke's arts and tourism community.

Terms as president of the Sooke Rotary Club, founding member of the Sooke Studio Tour and board member for the Craft Association of BC have honed her leadership skills.

Sheila was elected to the District of Sooke Council in 2005, re-elected in 2008.
