Parks Disposition

Based on recommendations of the Parks and Trails Master Plan, District of Sooke Council has approved the disposal of three underutilized District parks and is considering the disposal of an additional two underutilized parks.

Council has approved the disposal of Pineridge Park, Opal Place Park and Cinnabar Place Park.

Council is considering the disposal of Charval Place Park and Talc Place Park. Should Council choose to proceed, consideration of disposal of parkland includes a public Alternative Approval Process whereby the public is given the opportunity to formally petition against the disposal.

Should Council approve the disposal and sale of these lands, net proceeds from the sales will be transferred to the Park Land Reserve Fund (Bylaw 47) and will be used as per the bylaw for the purpose of acquiring strategic park land.
